Carson has been participating in Third Grade "May Days" today's May Day activity was an Egg Drop to coincide with a unit they have been covering on Self-esteem. I am especially anxious to hear how this was an self-esteem activity considering the amount of eggs that broke, thus possibly shattering several third grade self-esteems with it (lol).
So here is the big question did the egg survive such a devastating fall off the roof of the school building?

Missed the picture of it actually falling darn camera with its automatic stabilization and picture delay. So here it is on the cold cement after its impact to the playground.
After being taken back in to await its outcome. Looks like its in pretty good shape.

As for Carson and his self-esteem egg activity it could not have been better. His egg container was a highlight of the class and the anticipation of the outcome of his in particular was huge. I am happy for him and it was fun to watch, and of course Kevin was getting the play by play by phone, poor working Dad's miss everything.
I would tell you how we made such a giant oversized birdie from a badminton game on steroids, protecting a very small and extremely fragile, smiley face egg, but many of you have not yet had a third grader and have not yet experienced this fantastic event. So this will have to remain a secret for now, just know that it worked and it was fabulous.

We did this in high school, but shot them off with a rocket launcher. My came flying out of it's protective 'nest' and landed on my friend's car. Great job Carson!! (It wasn't a self esteem thing either, just something to do with rockets and parachutes.)
That was a great way to protect that egg! I was only one of many impressed moms watching that one fall! Way to go Carson! Camryn's survived too, which if it was truly for self-esteem, helped a lot in that area! By the way, you are a speedy blogger!:)
