One Year Older

Kevin's birthday was the end of February. We surprised Kevin with a bouquet of balloons hand picked by each child, Lexie of course added a pink balloon insisting it would be dad's favorite because it was her favorite. I am sure the pink balloon was his favorite...

We went out to dinner as our little family and Zach shared with the waitress that we were out to eat for his dads birthday and so of course she gathered together her co-workers to sing a birthday medley with Kevin standing in the midst of all of them, with the kids and I singing the loudest of course. It was fun to see Kevin's face turn red as he was a good sport.

It reminds me of when Zach was our only child at the time he was two and a half years old and we were out to dinner for Kevin's birthday. Zach told everyone he saw that it was his dad's birthday including the waitress. As the waitress went off to gather her singing help, Zach conveniently had to go to the bathroom. I took Zach to the bathroom only to return to the crowd of people singing to Kevin for his birthday, without a family sitting next to him it looked like he had told the staff himself. I have never laughed so hard.

Play Group

We made cars one week for play group, and then the next week we brought them back to have a drive-in movie. We watched the movie Cars (in our cars) and enjoyed a snack bar too. Lexie's car had a windshield, customized license plates and purple flowers for wheels. She had a lot of fun making her car and spending the morning with her friends.
