Carson

Carson turns nine today. You know the type of kids that count down everyday till their birthday for weeks before, that is NOT my Carson. He quietly waits for the day to approach, not a single mention of the big day at all. Oh he is excited he just does not need the drama or attention of counting down. He woke up today and met Kevin in the hall and started running from him to avoid his birthday spankings. Kevin was caught of guard but quickly caught on and started chasing him and did not take long until we were all running around the house after our birthday boy. He was finally caught and kissed and spanked nine times from all of us.

Top ten things I love about Carson!
10. I love his quiet nature
9. He is the peacemaker of our family, and quite often he sacrifices something he wants for the peace of another family member that did not deserve it
8. I love Carson's ears
7. He learns from others mistakes. Carson knows what Zach does to set mom off and he avoids it.
6. He has many friends at home and at school. He is very well liked.
5. He likes to stay home with me still
4. He loves to play games, any kind of game just like me
3. His favorite treat in the world is popcorn and he has it everyday
2. He takes care of his sister all the time he carries her backpack, he walks her to class, he is always watching out for her and he does this all on his own without being asked.
1. My favorite thing about Carson is that he has a contagious smile and laugh. When he is happy his whole face lights up and he makes you happy just by being around him.

I am so glad Carson is a part of our family. Happy Birthday Carson! I love you!

Our last Hoorah!

With one week left of summer vacation, we made the most of it and crammed in as much as we could into one week. So ready set go...
We started the week with Carson and Lexie in swimming lessons everyday for an hour. Both of them improved so much and passed with flying colors.

We went to the Children's Gardens and spent the afternoon enjoying the water, and the gardens. We definitely got our $2 worth. All three of my children fell asleep on the way home.

School shopping was the next thing we tackled. Clothes, shoes, supplies check.

Back to school night and the start of Junior High for Zach on Friday

A family reunion on Saturday morning.

Zach's first football game Saturday afternoon

In our spare time the Olympics have been so fun to watch together. We have enjoyed rooting for all the US olympians in their quests for gold.

That was our end of the summer hoorah... Although the kids are not so excited about school starting again, I am, not so much that I want them all out of the house. I am ready for a routine again, bedtimes to exist again, a schedule again. I can't wait!

Discover Gateway!

I have not been to the Children's Museum in a few years and not since they moved to the Gateway. Carson, Lexie, and I joined some friends of ours from where we lived before. It was so fun to see old friends and watch and play with our children together. My kids loved the fountains outside the most. I love to watch their excitement and the pure joy in their eyes. We had a great day!

The Farm

$2 Tuesdays proved to be extremely crowded at Thanksgiving Point so instead of the Dinosaur Museum we all settled for the farm. We still had a good time, enjoying the animals and our wagon ride. Next week we are still going to try the Children's garden.
