Our Staycation

We decided at the last minute that we were going to go camping for three days, a staycation if you will since we were technically about 40 minutes away. It was nice to take a break from the day to day routine and just enjoy each other and the great outdoors. Carson had a permanent grin the entire three days, he is totally in his element in the mountains. All the kids fished and fished and fished, Lexie caught her first fish ever. Kevin hardly got to fish himself since he was busy keeping all the kids fishing poles going, and the poor fish never stood a chance. Grandma came and joined us during the day and it was fun to have my brother Cody and his family join us around the campfire and eat smores, as well as getting to know Kevin's coworker Kurt and his family better. A little campfire watching, smores, popcorn over the fire, fishing, swimming, and tons of family fun it was just what we needed.

Family Night Fun

Kevin's buddy at work (Mark) gave him this great fun attachment and said it would cause hours of free fun for family night and he was right. Not only did it entertain our kids, but the neighborhood kids as well.

Hot Air Balloons

I have wanted to go to the Hot Air Balloons for several years now. All the kids and I got up at 5:15 and were in Provo at 5:55 am when we got there, they had only started to fill one balloon, it was awesome to be there so early and to see the process from the start. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time and can't wait to make this an annual tradition.

Colonial Days

This year I took the kids to the Colonial Days Renactment and displays, we had a good time learning about how the Declaration of Independence was actually printed, and how the old time printing press worked, we enjoyed the local singing talent, artists, the cannon shooting, and playing games of that era. We all learned something new.

Waterlicious

We as a family absolutely love the water. We went with the JD and Andrea on their awesome boat and had the times of our lives times two. We attempted wake boarding Zach, Carson, and I, it is much harder than it looks. I ended up skiing to prove to the kids that I could or still could, and I did. They had the most incredible tube I have ever been on. It seats three people and you hold on for dear life, say a little prayer, and laugh like you have never laughed before. We had so much fun, great rides, and great friends. Thanks so much for letting us come along!
