Coloring Eggs

We have had quite a houseful lately (17 altogether). Kevin's family has been here visiting from other states. It is nice for the kids because everyone has someone either their exact age or very close. The boys are getting along well and the girls well they are either best friends or enemies. Considering we are going on day 10, I am surprised we aren't all crying at some point during the day. So we decided to color eggs with 10 kids (we had to do shifts, of course). Sixty eggs later, and a few stained shirts we made it with all smiles.

Swimming with Eight!!!

While the cousins were visiting I decided to take EIGHT kids to the swimming pool ALONE (yes, I said eight and yes, I was the only adult). Our local pool is extremely kid friendly and I felt like I could do it. We stayed for three hours and had a great time.

Dreams Really Do Come True!

Four little girls were able to see their favorite princesses. We all rode trax into Salt Lake City. We saw the Disney on Ice Princess Wishes Tour. It was amazing and the girls had a great time. Each one of them had a different favorite part. My favorite part was when the giant candlestick from Beauty and the Beast fell over and could not get back up. I laughed and laughed. I know that is terrible, but it was funny none the less. I Wish I had a picture of that. Every girl danced in the halls and pretended to be princesses all the way home. A memory I will never forget.

Divide and Conquer

Kevin's nieces and nephews (five altogether) are staying with us for a week, and so Kevin and I decided to divide and conquer on Saturday. Kevin took all the boys to the Outdoor Expo (a manly event to say the least). They watched the Splash Dogs, rode a mechanical bull, watched fly casting competitions, and watched several fishing seminars. They had a great time and learned a few new tricks, and are anxious to try out the new lures they bought that the experts recommended. The boys thought Kevin was nuts for staying over nine hours. If Kevin had his way it would have been longer. Brave, Brave Man!!!

Meet and Greet

Lexie and I went to welcome the Princesses to Salt Lake City for the Disney on Ice Princess Wishes Tour. We got to walk the red carpet and be a part of all the excitement. Lexie dressed up as her favorite Princess Cinderella. I love this stage she is in. She really believes she can be a princess when she grows up, and I hope it will last forever.

One on One

Kevin and Zach had the opportunity to go watch BYU Basketball at their last home game as they took on the Wyoming Cowboys. The score was 78 to 61 BYU. It was a great to see the Cougars win the Conference Championship, but more fun to spend one on one time with Zach.

Family Home Evening

For this particular family home evening, Kevin gave a lesson on the importance of Journal Writing. The kids each decorated their own notebook journal, and were excited to share the events of the day. Kevin and I are excited as well as we venture into blogging as our journal of everyday events to share with our family and friends that are spread out among many states. We hope that through this blog and those of our families and friends it will bring us closer together.

After the lesson, no fhe is complete without an activity, and this particular night was no exception. We had a dance off. We all tried hard and some were better than others, I am not going to say names. We all had fun and that is what really mattered.
